There was a time in Dallas when prickly pears stood in the place of tall buildings, tumbleweed brushed along the yellow dirt trails, and the Jackalope roamed the land as its own. As the railroad attracted people and commerce, there wasn’t enough Texas for the Jackalope to hop.

An oasis of true Texan roots, the Jackalope now has a home, free to be himself in the county garden of the city center. However, he remains alluring. But rumor has it, if you pour him a pint of beer, the Jackalope will return.
